We played three gigs in August. The first was to mark the 1st anniversary of Quorn Library in the Old School. This was a pleasant gig and the band ate lunch together, giving us chance to socialise and chat.
The second August gig was at the Mountsorrel Revival Festival. This was altogether a harder afternoon, involving playing outside without amplification to a moving audience. It helped us understand the importance to the band of acquiring a good P.A. system. We decided as a result to apply for a Borough and Parish Council Grant to help us fund the purchase of a system. The third gig was in support of the Alzheimer’s Society which was organised by Alan Dunsmore. We help raise over £1000.
August saw the band continue to grow as new members joined.
