Five new members joined us this month, as we welcomed Maureen Brown, Terence Chadwick (Chad), Gillian Hardy, John Pope and Jon Simpson. It is really great that so many people want to come along and enjoy the challenge, fun and friendship that is QUO.
On Monday 6th May we played at Quorn May Day Festival and faced our biggest challenge yet when we performed outside for the first time. Our two sets were well received by an appreciative and generous audience who put £106 into our Charity Bucket. We would particularly like to thank David Jonczyk for his advice and help in setting-up and to thank Trish Jonczyk for her encouragement and supportive words. We’ve been asked to go back next year!
A small number of the band made the journey to Ilkeston to perform two sets for the residents of the Dementia Care Home. This proved to be a most rewarding experience for all concerned.
May also saw the arrival of our QUO flag, a stage backdrop screen and our first outdoors sound check with equipment kindly loaned by Phil Crisswell.
