In September we played at Quorn Food and Craft Trail, Loughborough Phoenix Bowls Club and at the Rainbows Children’s Hospice Charity event in Loughborough. All three gigs were most enjoyable, and enabled us to either raise funds for our partner charities or to help others in raising money for their own charitable purposes.
QUO continued to recruit new band members, and we now have 43 in total.
Our mission is to play music for the community in which we live. All money we raise from our playing goes to our partner charities, but to enhance our playing and extend our scope we decided to purchase some sound equipment. We applied to Charnwood Borough Council for a Member’s Grant, and councillors Shepherd and Hunt offered the support that made our application successful. We also applied to Quorn Parish Council for a grant towards our equipment, and were fortunate in being successful. With this new equipment we will be able to take music to more people.
